They are doing a great thing for the off road community by collecting donations for Fast-aid.org. What have you done Mike for the community for this accident? THATS right you write fake stories that make us look bad! Mike Homocast (AKA Gary Newsome) is at it again on that pathetic website! Mike...the money Fast-Aid is getting is to help the victims of this race! Its not going into racers or their pockets. It stuff that is spewed on your site with sayings like that is what hurts our sports! You my friend are a pathetic loser who has no friends in this sport. What people do on their personal time is their business and should not reflect on them professionally (I can stoop down to your level and show pics of you having sex with a ladyboy in TJ but I don't)!

The rule you are posting about going 15 mph is for vehicles other than the actual vehicles in the race! Its a race you asshole..is about who can finish 200 miles the fastest! The only thing OBVIOUS in this sport is your bullshit and you stealing money from individuals for your own personal gain. A BIG THANKS TO ALL THOSE GETTING THE INFO OUT THERE OF OUR SPORT!

I am proud to say that I am part of the off road community! After hearing about this weekends tragic accident in Lucerne Valley I thought that our sport would be coming to an end! But We pulled together no matter our differences and started voicing our opinions to the public and the media! I would like to thank all the big names in our sport for calling into tv and radio stations and giving the public some inside knowledge of our sport. The list is long on who have stepped up but you know who you are!

Next I would like to thank the parents and friends of Andrew Therrin. Your interview on tv about Andrew and his courage and that you don't hold the driver responsible was the greatest thing you could have ever said to a audience that does not understand desert racing. You also when asked about should they shut down this sport you told them without thinking that you would never want to see this sport go away, those are some big answers to give to a question like that after what you have been through! Also telling the media that you would like to talk to Brett Sloppy after this accident just to let him know that everything will be alright was also great!

Today I went back to work after taking a four day weekend and alot of my customers know I am into desert racing. The first question I always got asked was " Were you at the Race" i told them "no"! then after that they were asking me questions about what happen and if I kknew anybody that got killed or injured and I would tell them "yes A couple of my friends got injured" and would start describing the injuries and so forth! I probably spent about 5-10 minutes at each stop talking about it!

This weekends tragedy put our sport in a big spotlight and we need to use this time to share our knowledge and love of the desert racing out there to the public. Now is the time to put our sport in a good light, turn a wrong into a right and maybe get more people who will come out to races now and see what its really like from our perspective. I started getting into off road racing back in 2003 when I bought my first truck and have met many great people in our sport. One of the greatest teams i have helped and volunteered for was Giant Motorsports. Geoff Falzone makes great products for your prerunner all the way to your race truck and he backs and support anybody that races with his products for free! Not many fab shops do that and I can truly say people like Geoff truly care about everyone out there no matter if your using his products or not, he will help you out! So all of us from the people that race to the guys in the pits to the guys chasing the race truck on race day and to the fans...THANK YOU for all your support in this tragic time and lets keep up the good work and lets spread out our knowledge of our sport cause right now people have questions and its up to us to answer them!

SAD WEEKEND TRAGEDY/ ASSHOLE OVERCAST DOES HIS BEST TO SPIN IT AROUND!!!

I was sadden to hear of this weekends tragedy out in Lucerne Valley! I have been to this race many times in the past 7 years and it is one of the best races ever that we have out here! MDR brings out the true drivers of our sport that have a dream to race and can fulfill it in this series! The racers in the 1400/1450 class are your true hardcore racers. These guys spend almost every penny they earn into their trucks to race only one weekend a month! Unlike professional teams that have crew members to prep and tune their trucks, these guys get their friends involved to help them prep and tune and test their trucks for practically free (maybe a beer while working in the garage or a beer after a race or a ride in the truck)!

Off road racing is not like alot of the other motorsport racing events. They don't race on a paved surface or a small stadium track....they race on NATURAL TERRAIN. the terrain can change with a wind storm or a days worth of rain. the course is never the same!!! You can prerun the course to get an idea of what it will be like but something can happen from when you prerun to when you race! You can hit a rock that wasn't there before or a whoop developed or booby traps made by other people. This is what makes our sport more unique than any other sport out there.

Over the years there have been many accidents in our sport. Most of the time they happen down in Baja when people stand to close to the course or are driving the wrong way or a driver doesn't see another racer in the dust. Accidents happen and this week is no different. 8 People lost their lives in the tragic event that happened this weekend and there are many different reports on why the truck rolled into the crowd but one of the main factors was that spectators were standing to close to the course! One of the rules of MDR is for spectators to stay at least 50-100 feet away from the course incase a incident like this weekend happens they have the time to get out of the way. I have been to the Rock Pile many times over the years for this race and I can honestly say I have been one of those people that stood close to the course but The minute I heard a vehicles engine I never took my eyes off the vehicle the moment it came into view! Now MDR can not police the whole course but I have seen in the past peopel with MDR try to keep people back by either using fences or having people there telling people to get back but most of these people have been drinking since morning and trying to control a drinking mob that can get violent with a hit of a switch is not something people want to deal with. There is no way to police a race course that is a 50 mile loop or more in Natural terrain on public land!

NOW!!!! On to Mike Overcast! This asshole will use any information if its true or false to post up his website! Mike is not a racer nor a real reporter! His site does nothing but spread lies and hurt our sport! For someone who supposedly loves racing why do you do it Mike? What are you hoping to gain by spreading your lies? Are you trying to close down this sport? Are you looking to get paid off to stop spreading your lies? I know one thing for sure...you will get a repeat of what happened to you at the MINT and thats for damn sure! Stop spreading your lies Mike and use your site to help promote our sport instead of hurting it!!! Quit the fakes stories about SCORE and any other desert racing league! If any of your stories are used to shut down our deserts you better make damn sure you leave to Mexico or somewhere we won't find you!

To Brett Sloppy! Brett.... Stay strong brother we are all here for you! Most people who see this in the news do not have a full understanding of our sport! You are a desert racer! Desert racing is racing on terrain that can change from one week to the next! we do not race on asphalt or the same tracks every weekends, thats is what makes our sport so unique! Sometimes things happen beyond our control and it can take the slightest bump or whoop or rock in the track to turn a great day into something else! Don't stop racing now, you can come back from this and make you a better racer than ever! Hope to see you soon in the desert!!!

RIP to the 8 that lost your lives and a speedy recovery to those that got injured! One of the most heroic stories to come out of this is of Andrew Therrin! right when he saw the truck go airborne he pushed his daughter and another child out of the way before he got killed himself! its because of the act he most likely got a hug from God himself when he entered the Pearly GAtes!!!

I am Back!!!!!!!!

After dealing with some personal issues and the death of my father I am now able to start fighting this asshole again! Recently there have been postings on a forum that Mr. Overcast was punched at the Mint 400! I am one not a violent person...BUT BRAVO TO THE PERSON WHO DID IT!!! ME and many others have warned you Mike that you step on the wrong person you will be dealt with in a way that would not be pleasant. You brought this on to yourself Mike so deal with the consequences. You posted on your site then took it down that you will pay anyone 1000 dollars to try it with you and your little goons. I don't know what kind of people you have backing you up Mike but either your full of shit or these people you have hired have no idea what you have done.

As of right now Mike and am contacting Holly Madison's people to deny your little lie about here coming out to your crappy radio show and god it will feel great if her people go after you for promoting her coming to your show when its not true!
